Bill the Alien

Bill the alien arrived on earth by mistake. Hammered at the galactic bar, he chose to drink and hyperdrive then blacked out near what we call Pluto. Awakened when he entered earths atmosphere, he realized his mistake but managed to safely land his craft discreetly near a herd of bison.

Having never been to earth, he used his telepathic powers and asked their opinion on the dominate species on their planet.

They said:

The human race is complicated but at its core they are primal and territorial.  Smarter than all species they think everything is at their disposal and can be used to gain power and wealth

There are a few humans that know they are the on path to destruction but their numbers are quite small. It is those humans that saved us from near extinction but for other species they are losing the battle. 

Should you choose to make contact with them they will fear you , confine you , study you and hide you from the masses as the majority of them believe they are the only intelligent life in the universe. As your existence would destroy their religions and social structures you are not welcome.

They have their own set of rules that helps life make sense while providing comfort to them as they need reassurance that at their death there is something more. There isn't one unified religion that they can agree on and they war to prove who's God is more powerful. 

As they are always restless and never satisfied while searching for purpose and contentment, you can see they are a dangerous species to get involved with. Should you ask any other creature on this planet you will get the same response.

Thanking them for their time Bill the alien set course back to the galactic bar.
Upon arriving, friends asked where he had been. He said "nowhere I'm proud of. I'll have a double and keep them coming."
