If you choose Facebook to voice your political or religious opinion, who are you really talking to? For the most part it's just your friends and family who, if they really know you, already know your views and opinions.
So, what's your point? Does it make you feel better in some way? Like you have done your good deed for the day and will get brownie points in heaven or possibly get favors from your candidate if they win (who by the way you will probably never meet in your lifetime)
Yes, it's another avenue for freedom of speech and it's your right to post what you feel is appropriate but think about it in the bigger scheme of things. It's just free therapy for those who feel they are not being heard. It's another way for corporations to profile you. It's an avenue for advertisers to get you in front of their products. All these things and more is how Facebook makes money their money and you are a willing participant.
But Kevin, you are being hypocritical by voicing your opinion on Facebook. Don't you know your opinion is only going to your family and friends? To that I answer "Yes". You are the people I wrote this for.
If you really feel you are not being heard, there are more satisfying ways to express your views. Get involved in your church on a consistent basis. Go to political rallies and see if you feel a kindred connection to those who are also supporting your candidate. These are only two examples but you hopefully you see my point. Don't hide behind your keyboard on all your computer devices. Get out and get involved.
